Conceived as a result of the impact Hurricane Katrina, Prospect1 is an biennial exhibition of contemporary art in the New Orleans. The first biennial ran from November 1, 2008 to January 18, 2009. There are over 81 artists from 10 foreign countries, as well as the United States with Louisiana well represented.
The venues were through out New Orleans and includes such sites as the Contemporary Arts Center, The Louisiana State Museum, and the Lower 9th Ward. .
